Rippy at Sound Signal specializes in recording rock, punk, metal, indie and well, most any kind of band. Most of these estimated are given with that in mind. If you have a unique or radically different setup, pricing and estimates may differ.

Please check the info below regarding rates, and some basics that may help, then fill out the form at the bottom of the page to inquire about availability. 

Important info:
Rates are à la carte or as needed with options to suite any budget.
Discounts available for keeping it in house and doing a package deal. Example, I will discount mixing if you do the recording with me also, etc.  Additional needs and time beyond the package price will result in additional costs.

Rates beginning September 1, 2025:

• Full Day:  $450 (8 hours + 1 hour lunch/break )

• Half Day: $300 (4 hours)

• Mixing:  starting at $350 per single, or cheaper multi-song package rate

• Mastering: starting at $150

• Demo Deal: $600 - 8 hours + 1 hour lunch for live recording, basic mix & master included, old school style. New bands only please!

• Music Video: starting at $1000

• Live or Performance video: starting at $1000

• Pre-Production Day: $450 (8 hours + 1 hour lunch) essentially a live tracking setup with focus working on writing, arrangement, tonal exploration.

• Remote recording: I will travel to you! pricing available upon request

Note:  8 hours may seem like alot, but it goes QUICK!
ESTIMATED TIMES: Full-Length studio records generally take 1-3 weeks to record. EPs can be done in around 3-7 days and singles 1-2 days.
Half days are for overdubs, vocals, and quicker things. Half days are not recommended for drums, live records or full band demo sessions. Demo Deals are not for label projects or established bands.
Any overtime (going beyond 8 hrs in the day) is subject to availability and schedule and not guaranteed.  

• Mixing- includes 3 versions, the 1st and 2 additional revisions. If alternate mixes, such as stems, vocal up, instrumentals, etc, are required, please state that at the time of booking so that extra mixing time can be booked for that purpose.

• Booking- Please reach out for available calendar dates. I am generally booking 1-4 months out for recording and 1-6 weeks for mixing.

• Deposit-  A non-refundable deposit is required to confirm all projects and dates. The deposits apply towards the overall cost of the day/project.
  $100 per day is required for recording and 50% for mixing/mastering
  You can cancel or change the dates without penalty within 72 hours of initial scheduling or 45+ days in advance. You can also move the recording up (sooner) in time, without penalty. It is important to note that deposits are connected to the specific dates chosen, not projects themselves – postponing or cancelling after the initial 3 days means you will most likely lose your deposit.

• NOTHING IS CONFIRMED UNTIL DEPOSIT IS PAID AND CONFIRMATION EMAIL IS SENT.

• Archival of recordings or files given is also the responsibility of the client, not me.

• Musical equipment like instruments, amps, pedals, and drums at Sound Signal are available to clients at no additional cost.

• Purchasing of supplies such as hard drives, drum heads/sticks, guitar strings/picks, etc. is the client’s responsibility.
